Phoenix is a Long Distance Walkers' Association event based in Osmotherley and is part of the Osmotherley Summer Games. There are routes of 17, 26 and 30 miles across moors and through forests. Walkers and runners can change routes during the event. Their serial numbers and times are noted at designated check points. St. John Ambulance provides First Aid facilities. Competitors are given the telephone number of the Queen Catherine pub in Osmotherley as an emergency contact point. Cleveland RAYNET Group provides comms. between check points and HQ.
